Phillippa Mills is an artist working across painting and drawing. Her work often begins with animals, people, plants and everyday things, moving between close observation and invention.
She is interested in the slightly strange side of the familiar, and in the point where something observed becomes something imagined. Her work moves between different subjects and approaches without settling into one particular category.
She lives on the edge of Dartmoor with a collection of animals. Some tamer than others.
